Field Motorsport is a family run business that was setup in the mid '90's by Tommy Field.
Tommy learned his trade through working at the infamous Mountune. Here he became noticed for his impeccable engine builds most famously building Francoise Delacour's winning WRC engine in 1994, but also soon became proficient in all areas of engine preparation, dyno cell operation, mapping and everything in between.
Not long after setting up on his own, Field Motorsport moved to its current home in South Woodham Ferrers in Essex where his workforce grew with more highly skilled ex-Mountune staff and other family members helping to run the busy office on a daily basis.
Customers came from far and wide for Tommy to initially build them race winning engines and sure enough the 1st place Ford privateer entry in the subsequent seasons WRC was powered by the turquoise colours of FMS!
With the fairly recent introduction of a fully equipped Studka engine dyno cell FMS can now see through engine builds and rebuilds from start to finish, with everything from specifying components, to the build, mapping and in turn delivering the 100% perfect end result to the customer.
With five staff, FMS is ever-expanding with all either having learnt their trade at Mountune or under Tommy's own watchful eye.
Today FMS support most of the top running teams in the British Rally Championship, Silhouette’s and Class C Historic Touring Cars to name but a few.
FMS engines also power the top place drivers in the Madeira WRC, Belgium Tarmac Championship, British Ka Championship and the Northern Ireland Super 1600 Championship.
